Therapeutic massage is the manipulation of the body’s soft tissues. Massage techniques are commonly applied with hands, fingers, elbows, forearms, combined with myofascial massage, trigger point therapy and deep tissue to get to the underlying muscles, and passive-resistive stretching techniques.
The purpose of a therapeutic massage is for the treatment of the body to reduce discomfort by working on specific areas of muscle tension, using slow, deep strokes. It is common for the therapist to apply pressure that feels intense at the time, but the goal is to release tension and knots in the muscle, stress, pain, and work on specific problems such as carpal tunnel, thoracic outlet, and body posture, or injuries, such as chronic pain or limited mobility, while promoting relaxation and to reduce stress (not to cause pain).

Acupressure is generally very slow, steady pressure applied rhythmically with the thumbs, to points along meridians of the body. It is a versatile treatment that can positively affect the body, whether done on the face or feet!
Tui Na is often very beneficial for chronic pain due to injuries or deeper imbalances within the body, such as digestive complaints or insomnia. Patients find benefits from tui-na combined with many of the other treatments, or on its own.

This is a wonderful technique applied to points on the back, with glass cups suctioned to the body creating "inverted pressure". All services are currently offered for private pay only via cash or credit card. In Wisconsin, speech pathologists are not able to charge Medicaid or Medicare clients privately. Any client meeting this criteria (having access to Medicaid or Medicare coverage) will need to be seen by another provider. While About Voice - Speech Therapy Services doesn't currently accept insurance, we can provide you with a Superbill (itemized list of services rendered) for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Prior to booking, potential clients should first ask their insurance companies about out-of-network benefits to see if out-of-network speech therapy services may be covered. Some types of therapies may be covered by a health savings account (HSA) or flexible savings account (FSA).
